Far Forest Countryside Show 2016 will be full weekend of family fun.
Two days Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th August 2015


2015 Show was a fabulous weekend. We welcomed over 10,000 visitors. It was the first time the show has ever been held on 2 days, and we are delighted at how it went. The feedback from visitors has been really positive Thank you to everyone who came to support us.
We had previously more or less reached the capacity for a 1 day show and now have the scope to grow and improve. We now know what we need to do and so 2016 will see a few changes to make the quality of entertainment and stands even better than ever.

2015 has been a fantastic success, just look at last years programme of events, and keep watching for updates as we make the preparations for 2016.

What else to look out for on each day:

Saturday only;
In the lower arena, we have the Dog Agility displays and you can also have a go on the course with your own dogs. Neil will be around to talk you through everything and then show you how its done.

We also have Animal Antics, - Angela and her team have a mobile zoo of creatures some cute and cuddly, some creepy and all exciting. Find Angela on the lower field near to the Dog Agility Arena.

Sunday only
We have the Fun Dog Show, - Mary has a full list of classes with prizes in each class. Registration opens at 10:30am and judging begins at noon.
Just below the Art Exhibition we have Katie Billington's taekwondo demonstrations all day.

Both days we also have loads to see, do, enjoy & taste....
We have our Delicious food festival marquee with live demonstrations on the Wots Cooking cookery theater. The marquee will also be packed full of food traders from all over the country selling and sampling some of finest foods on offer everything from treats to meats and anything else between.

On the showground between our 8 trade stand areas don't miss the shows in the main arena, this year we are delighted to welcome The Dog & Duck show.

Also in the arena, The interactive birds of prey shows from Andy at the Falconry Centre, Ever wanted to walk with an owl? this could be your chance.
Zennor's Dance and musical theatre academy are back this year with over 100 dancers.

New this year we have the history of weapons including exciting firing of some vintage firearms including flint locks and even a cannon.
The arena also plays host to some medieval battles by the Knights & Freeman. However if you would prefer to experience the medieval in more peaceful surroundings why not visit the Medieval village, chat to the villagers and learn about their daily lives.

The Home-craft & Hobbies marquee will also be filled not only with beautiful things but also wonderful fragrant aromas and colours providing an interesting diversion.  

Outside the marquees we have Ferret Racing throughout the day and you can meet the animals in our livestock, farm birds and poultry shows as well as Alpacas and many more animals and rural enterprise.

Don't forget the art Exhibition in the Pavilion where you can get a cream tea.

The ladies (with help from a few devoted husbands) of the WI will be serving homemade cakes, drinks and sandwiches made to order in out main Horticultural marquee.

The live Music stage will kick off late morning and we have bands playing all afternoon. As usual our main music stage is a convenient distance from the bar which this year will have both Ludlow and Hobson's Brewery Ales on tap.

We also have an outdoor food court serving a fascinating variety of quality foods from the Whitby Fish & Chip company, to RT catering classic hog roast and quality sausages.

So sit back with a glass of something refreshing and some quality food and enjoy the entertainment from around the show.

Don't forget the spectacular dog show (on Sunday only) on our lower showground. There are 20 classes to enter and prizes for each class.

The Show is held annually on the weekend containing the second Sunday in August.
The first show was in 1902 and has a rich history having been opened by the UK Prime Minister on more than one occasion; in 1956 it was a first for the very latest cutting edge technologies with CCTV of the arena events! The biggest recorded attendance was in 1953 18,000 visitors.
