Far Forest Society Countryside Show

The Far Forest Society Countryside show is an annual show run entirely by volunteers of the Far Forest Society. If anyone is interested in joining the society or helping out at the show we would be delighted to hear from you.

The show planning is going well, but as always there is a lot of work to do.

I'm thrilled to say that Lady and the Sax will be back at the show this year. Sam and Laura will be joined by Mr David Lawrence, and Laura Broad. So we can guarantee some world class live music during the afternoon.

This year's Dog Show promises to be bigger and better with 20 classes, just £1 entry per class with trophies and prizes. Special Thanks to our friends at Forest Dog Rescue who have prepared a great fun Dog Show.

The Main Area Programme of shows and entertainment is almost complete, We have a grand opening with music from Bewdley Concert Band, and great shows from the Battling Knights & Freemen, and Dance shows from Zennor's Dance Academy, and the always popular falconry shows where the all the family can get involved.
We are very proud to present the Paws For Thought - Dog Display Team who's shows have thrilled and delighted audiences across the country at other prestigious shows like the Three Counties, The Royal Welsh, as well as Crufts and many more. Learn more at http://www.pawsforthought-dogdisplay.co.uk/
The Battling Knights and Freemen are also back. Come and visit the Medieval Village and have a go at Archery.

How could we fail to notice that 2012 is a special Olympic year for the UK as host nation. Indeed the Olympic torch will pass the showground on 23rd May.
There may be another special connection to the London 2012 Olympic Games, Watch this space for more info.

We intend to add an some sport and competition to the show this year.
Come and watch the Forest Games Tug of War competition, if you're feeling strong and competative why not enter.
All you need to enter is a team of 5 people. If you're interested get in touch via the contact us link.
There is £300 in prize money to be won. (£250 for the winning team and £50 for the 2nd place team).

Our food festival marquee was such a huge success last year with 25 traders showcasing the best food and drink from around the county and beyond. Many of last year's traders sold out on the day, so it's no surprise that the 2012 food marquee is really popular.

The Horticultural show is of course still at the heart of the show and after a spectacular display last year we hope for an even bigger display in 2012. The entry forms are now avaliable to download and print at home.

The Show is held annually on the second Sunday in August.
The first show was in 1902 and has a rich history having been opened by the UK Prime Minister on more than one occasion; in 1956 it was a first for the very latest cutting edge technologies with CCTV of the arena events! The biggest recorded attendance was in 1953 18,000 visitors.
